OUR

TRADITION

SINCE ITS FOUNDING, THE LIXIE STRIKING TOOL COMPANY HAS STOOD FOR QUALITY AND CRAFTSMANSHIP.

IN 1946, ANGELO BIANCINI EMIGRATED TO THE BUSTLING INDUSTRIALIZED CITY OF PROVIDENCE RHODE ISLAND TO WORK AS A PRECISION TOOL MAKER AT THE BROWN AND SHARPE  COMPANY, WHICH WAS A LEADING MANUFACTURER OF PRECISION MEASURING TOOLS AND AUTOMATED MACHINERY. ANGELO QUICKLY FOUND THE QUALITY OF THE HAND TOOLS IN THE UNITED STATES TO BE SIGNIFICANTLY INFERIOR TO THOSE OF ITALY ORIGIN AND MANUFACTURE.

ANGELO STARTED THE LIXIE STRIKING TOOL COMPANY IN 1948 WITH THE GOAL TO PRODUCE THE FINEST STRIKING TOOLS FOR CRAFTSMEN SUCH AS HIMSELF, AT A FAIR PRICE. IN THE 1960’S, THE LIXIE DEAD-BLOW HAMMER WAS THE FIRST STRIKING TOOL SELECTED BY NASA TO BE SENT ON FUTURE SPACE MISSION. THIS ORIGINAL HAMMER IS ON PERMENANT DISPLAY AT THE SMITHSONIAN NATIONAL AIR AND SPACE MUSEUM IN WASHINGTON DC.

TODAY, MORE THAN SEVENTY-FIVE YEARS LATER, THE FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED LIXIE STRIKING TOOL  COMPANY CONTINUES ANGELO’S TRADITION OF MANUFACTURING AND ASSEMBLING THE FINEST HAMMERS, MALLETS AND SLEDGES AVAILABLE.
